MONROE POLICE DEPT HELPS SAVE PUPPIES!

Officers of the Monroe Police Department stepped up to help a local rescue to save six puppies underneath a house. The officers that showed up to help us were: Williamson, Youngs, Holbrook, Conroy, Westbrook, Davis, Pilgrim and Richardson.

Officers Williamson and Youngs crawled on their bellies to reach the extremely tight space where the puppies were.

The mother had been taken away the previous morning and animal control refused to bring the mother back during the rescue of the puppies, saying she was aggressive - which later was proven she was not aggressive.

After the rescue by the police officers, Animal Care Hospital at Bold Springs cared for the anemic puppies who were covered in thousands of fleas. The puppies were estimated to be 4 weeks old.

Meg Carden of the rescue group Pup and Cat Co. pulled the mother dog from animal control three days later and reunited her with her pups. They are all thriving and are being fostered by Paws Resort in Winder, GA.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE MONROE POLICE DEPARTMENT & ALL OTHERS INVOLVED IN SAVING THESE PRECIOUS LIVES.
